Medical research reporting guidelines (RG) aim to improve the reliability and translational application of medical research by promoting the integrity of medical papers. This study used random sampling and questionnaire survey to analyze the awareness rate, recognition, training needs and influencing factors of authors, reviewers and editors to medical research RG, and collected the problems in the implementation process of RG. The results showed that the highest awareness rate of RG among respondents was the Uniform Requirements for Submissions to Biomedical Journals (82.31%, 1271/1544), followed by the CONSORT statement (16.13%, 249/1544), and the awareness rates of other RGs were all below 14%. 51.10% (789/1544) of the respondents considered it very necessary to apply medical research RGs. The main obstacles are the complexity of the entries, overly strict requirements, too many detailed extended versions, too much time, labor and cost to use. By simplifying the existing RGs, developing corresponding journal policies, promoting their use with the help of artificial intelligence technology, actively conducting systematic training, and strengthening the responsibility of authors, reviewers and editors in academic publishing, which will help to change the concept, create an environment and culture that encourages the use of RG, and improve the quality of medical research reports.
