A successful column not only highlights the unique features of a journal but also serves as a magnet for high-quality submissions and enhances its influence. In the face of new development opportunities for Chinese scientific and technological journals, the "Chinese Journal of Applied Mechanics" has actively explored column construction, forming a comprehensive lifecycle mechanism that spans from topic selection planning to manuscript solicitation paths and promotion strategies. Its column establishment closely integrates its own strengths, serves significant national needs, promotes interdisciplinary integration, and fosters deep cooperation with key research teams, not only highlighting the journal's distinctive features but also attracting numerous high-quality manuscripts. This practice offers valuable experience for other journal editors: column construction must be grounded in one's own strengths, embrace innovation, and broaden the cooperation network through collaboration and sharing, in order to continuously enhance the journal's influence and build a more solid platform for academic research and exchange. |
