| The China Young Editors’ Professional Competition for Scientific Journals serves as a vital platform for cultivating the “red and professional” qualities of young editors in the new era. Drawing on the author’s complete participation experience, this paper systematically reviews the continuous growth in political literacy, planning thinking, integrated communication, and practical skills, illustrating the transition from routine tasks to becoming professional, strategic, and versatile editors. The article focuses on the multiple roles of the competition in fostering a sense of responsibility, enhancing professional capabilities, and strengthening mission commitment, reflecting how young editors deepen their understanding and recognition of the work principles of scientific journals through the contest. It provides a practical reference for exploring pathways to build and enhance the editorial workforce and its competencies in the new era. |
