| By analyzing the data of impact factor and relative impact factor of The Chinese Journal of Nonferrous Metals, Acta Metallurgica Sinica and Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China in 2004-2006, it is indicated that the relative impact factor can be used in the dynamic evaluation of journal. Taking the requirements for PhD candidates in Central South University as an example, the reasonableness and effectiveness of the relative impact factor in scientific evaluation is discussed. |
