| The characteristics of image catalogues, including representativeness, visibility, artistry and selectivity, are described in this paper by comparing them with conventional contents of magazine. The selection principles of image directories are discussed and the selection ways are also provided. The basic principle is that representativeness of the theme is more important than artistry. In the process of selecting images of a directory, the authors and the editors should cooperate with each other while the authors should be the major decision maker. |
