| This paper introduces some innovative measures to improve the quality of newly-established academic journals taking Journal of Nonferrous Metals Science and Engineering as a case. The measures include:devoted service to non-ferrous metals industry by relying on the regional and disciplinary advantages, promoting the digital construction of the journal, enhancing the editorial quality, and inviting contributions by various means. Directions for future development are prospected. |
