| This paper introduces the practice of publishing special issues in Biotechnology Bulletin, and summarizes some practical experience in organizing such special issues, in order to improve academic influence of Chinese periodicals and create the characteristics of journal brand. Practice has proved that the special issues have a significant effect on the journal in attracting quality manuscripts, gathering academic experts resources, improving academic influence of periodicals, and exibiting characteristics of periodicals.
