| The China Young Editors’ Professional Competition for Sci-tech Journals functions as a pivotal platform for nurturing “politically committed and professionally competent” young editors in the new era. Based on the author’s firsthand competition experience, this paper conducts a systematic review of sustained growth in political literacy, strategic planning capabilities, integrated media communication skills, and practical competencies, demonstrating the evolutionary journey from executing routine editorial tasks to emerging as professionally adept, strategically oriented, and multifaceted editors. The analysis emphasizes the competition’s multifaceted roles in cultivating professional responsibility, elevating specialized expertise, and reinforcing mission-driven commitment, while reflecting on how young editors deepen their theoretical understanding and practical recognition of sci-tech journal editing principles through competitive engagement. This study offers valuable practical insights for exploring effective approaches to strengthen editorial team development and enhance professional competencies in the new era. |
