| To explore the logic and interrelationships among the function orientation, intersections, and synergies of sci-tech journals. Drawing on the theory of knowledge production modes and the functional practices of sci-tech journals in academic discovery, technological application, and social communication, this paper categorizes sci-tech journals into three core functional types—academic, technological, and popular science—and analyzes their functional differences along the dimensions of knowledge objects, target audiences, quality standards, and value realization. On this basis, it elucidates the manifestations and boundaries of the intersections among the different functions of sci-tech journals in the context of the transformation of knowledge production modes and the diversification of demands, and further examines the main approaches to functional synergy in terms of topic planning, dissemination of research outcomes, resource sharing, and feedback loops. The study shows that the functional differences of sci-tech journals constitute the foundation of professional specialization, functional intersections provide interfaces for knowledge linkage, and functional synergy helps promote the dissemination of research outcomes and value appreciation, thereby offering a reference for sci-tech journals to overcome homogeneous competition, improve classification evaluation, and enhance overall effectiveness. |
