| In the context of convergent media, scientific journals urgently need to build an efficient communication matrix to overcome the limitations of traditional communication models and enhance communication effectiveness. Taking the Media System Dependency (MSD) theory as an analytical framework and using Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion as a case study, this paper systematically explores the construction path of a multi-layered convergent media communication matrix for ordinary scientific journals. We propose and implement a collaborative communication matrix consisting of four interrelated layers: a foundation layer (journal website and international databases), a core layer (WeChat official account), an expansion layer (video channel, academic live streaming, and targeted push notifications), and a derivative layer (science comics and hand-drawn covers). Through functional differentiation and content tiering, each platform addresses the audience''s needs for understanding, orientation, and entertainment, respectively, thereby enabling segmented dissemination of academic resources and value-enhanced communication. Our findings show that this matrix is operable under conditions of limited manpower and financial resources, effectively enhancing the journal''s academic influence and brand recognition. We also summarize implementation strategies, including adapting to local conditions, mobilizing the academic community and cultivating in-house talent. This study provides a replicable and scalable practical pathway for ordinary scientific journals with constrained resources to develop convergent media communication. |
