| In order to clarify which journal is the first Chinese journal in China, this paper traces to the sources by combing the historical facts about inchoation of Chinese journals, and denies someone's claim that Chinese Monthly Magazine, founded by foreign missionaries in Malaysia 200 years ago, is the first Chinese journal in China. Furthermore, with convincing historical materials, we confirm that Wuyi Huijiang, started by Chinese people in Suzhou 223 years ago, is the first Chinese journal in China. |
