| To help academic periodicals attract more manuscripts, guide periodical editors and publishers to focus on and pursue the development of disciplines, based on Keywords statistics, this paper designs the Red Point Factor (RPF) for academic periodicals, which is used to measure the coincidence degree of journal papers and their subject research hotspots. The significance of the RPF is to evaluate the quality and potential impact of periodicals from the content level. This is different from the commonly used citation analysis methods, such as the post evaluation method. RPF will open a new way of thinking and new perspective in promoting the periodical construction and the journal evaluation. RPF will be applied to adjust orientation of academic periodicals, track subject hot spots, optimize the structure of manuscripts, compact periodical features, find quality authors, and excavate competitive intelligence. |
