| English-language sci-tech journals were important platforms for promoting the exchange of academic information and the dissemination of scientific knowledge. In recent years, Chinese government has given strong support to the cultivation of English-language sci-tech journals, and the number has increased obviously. This paper, by analyzing the results of existing research and combining its own work experience, pointed out that there were problems in the process of running English-language sci-tech journals in China, such as impure motives for running journals, insufficient capacity for running journals, single criteria for evaluating journals, and seeking quick success of journals, and etc.. Finally, some relevant suggestions were given, i.e., correcting the way of thinking how to run an academic journal, and clarifying the original intention and mission of journals; adhering to the correct academic orientation and promoting the development of journals with high-quality content; following the rules of journal development and reasonably planning each stage of journal development. |
