| This paper summarizes university medical journal editors' potential habitual tendencies in preliminary manuscript examination as follows:"four points of emphasis and four points of neglects", that is, emphasizing basic medical research but neglecting clinical research; emphasizing prospective research but neglecting retrospective research; emphasizing research with positive results but neglecting research with negative results; and emphasizing western medicine but neglecting traditional Chinese medicine. Then the paper discusses the causes and effects of these tendencies on journals with the hope of providing valuable reference for improving the quality of manuscript examination and expanding the academic impact of journals. |
